About Me

Born in Malaysia in 1982 I arrived in New Zealand in 1990, got my permanent residency in 1993 and have lived here ever since. At secondary school I dabbled in design but took up programming at tertiary level. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science with a Computer Science major at University of Auckland, I worked as a computer technician for iGRIN Internet, UIT Ltd and NorthTec's Visual Arts and New Media department.

In the Visual Arts area I help students with graphic design and digital photography using Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. In the New Media area, I help assist the tutor in explaining XHTML, CSS, Javascript, Flash and PHP. I also participate in the class's video and production work being either the cameraman, helping with editing or being the odd extra. My other duties at NorthTec involve maintaining Macintoshes within the department, liaise with ICT concerning security and group policy settings on the domain with the PCs and producing promotional material for presentations.

Besides being a technician and doing programming I am also interested in video production. Like everything else, video production was self taught. Entering in V48 Hour Furious Film Making in 2010 was an eye opening experience of how hard it can be but also how enjoyable it was once the finish product was done.  My other interests include digital photography, cooking and I consider myself a gaming enthusiast. I have always enjoyed a challenge and gaming is a great platform for it.
